The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment and the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) have introduced the Blue Visa to attract and retain top environmental leaders. In its first phase, 20 sustainability thought leaders and innovators will receive the visa.

This initiative extends the UAE’s residency options beyond the Golden Visa and Green Residency, ensuring long-term stays for individuals who contribute to environmental advancements. Eligible applicants include members of international organizations, non-governmental organizations, award-winning environmentalists, activists, and researchers.

Interested candidates can apply directly through the ICP or be nominated by relevant UAE authorities. The application process follows government-approved procedures available on the ICP website and mobile application.

The Blue Visa aligns with the UAE’s ongoing sustainability initiatives and climate action goals. The first phase allows relevant government agencies to submit electronic applications for approval through ICP’s system.

Major General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, ICP Director-General, highlighted that the Blue Visa service will be available 24/7 through the ICP website and mobile application. Eligible individuals can access the platform anytime to apply, ensuring a seamless experience.
